Virgin Atlantic to resume flying with new safety measures

Virgin to resume flying on 20th July with new measures in place

Virgin Atlantic has announced its plan to restart passenger flights starting with routes from Heathrow to Orlando, Hong Kong, Shanghai, New York JFK and Los Angeles.

Following on, they announced more destinations will come in August as countries start to relax travel restrictions. It said it would continue dedicated cargo operations also.

Safety measures

Virgin have said additional measures would be in place at airports and onboard their aircraft to ensure safety, including health questionnaires, temperature screening as well as packs which will include masks to a medical-grade, surface wipes and hand sanitiser for its passengers. Safe distancing will also be adhered to "wherever possible", particularly at check-in and boarding and where not possible, masks will be required.

Cheif customer office, Corneel Koster, for Virgin Atlantic said: "Our medical experts are working closely with all relevant UK and international health and aviation authorities to ensure we adhere to, and on many occasions exceed the guidance they are offering, whilst continuously reviewing and updating the measures we have in place to keep our customers and teams safe."
